This project was a complete gut renovation of a historic Brooklyn Townhouse. The goal was to create more space while embracing the historic elements of the original structures. To achieve that, we added a 16 foot addition to each level with retractable floor to ceiling glass doors that opened up to outside. Then, the steel staircase was custom created and installed to wrap the previous brick facade. The chefs kitchen features poured concrete floors, reclaimed wood, chef's grade appliances and is completed by a planted deck that leads down to the expansive garden. Wood burning fireplaces enhance the double parlor and dining room on the main level with seamless DuChateau reclaimed french oak flooring, exposed painted brick, a cozy centrally located powder room and custom designed stained glass bearing a peaceful olive branch. The open floor-plan allows for easy casual living. The master suite on the top level is completed by an enormous ensuite bath of sumptuous marble, stall shower, soaking tub and a custom vanity built for two. A large interior window on the top level allows more light into what would have been a dark master bedroom as well.
